Holiday Inn Express

Connelly & Wicker was responsible for both the Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture for the new Holiday Inn Express in Jacksonville on Mayport Road.  The hotel consists of 72 rooms within a single 36,000 square feet building on a 2.07 acre parcel. The design also included two future retail buildings on the site totaling 8,700 square feet.  Work included drainage design involving a combination of an underground Atlantis “Rain Tank” system and surface pond, potable water design with fire flow, an onsite wastewater pumping station, maximized parking, landscape design, and irrigation design.  This project required permitting with the Florida Department of Transportation, City of Jacksonville, City of Atlantic Beach, FDOT, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and St. Johns River Water Management District.
