Firm Biography

Connelly & Wicker Inc., headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida since 1983, is a multi-disciplined firm providing professional services in both the public and private sectors of civil, highway and utility engineering, landscape architecture and site planning.

The firm was established by Robert D. Connelly, P.E. and Marvin L. Wicker, P.E in Jacksonville Beach, Florida to provide civil engineering services to developers and governmental agencies.  Mr. Connelly brought general civil engineering expertise, and Mr. Wicker  had a wealth of utility design  experience.  Within the first two years on the company establishment, Brian Kientz and Richard Welch joined the firm and grew into leadership positions.  In 1996, Andrew Cummings was recruited to lead the transportation and municipal engineering group, and Buck Pittman joined the firm in 2010 to head the landscape architecture division.

The early years of the firm were spent mostly on land development projects while building up the public sector portion of the business.  In the 1990’s the firm public sector work grew into a significant segment of the company and clients included the U.S. Department of the Navy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Florida Department of Transportation, North Carolina Department of Transportation, City of Jacksonville and St. Johns County.

Since the beginning of the new century, we maintained the public sector efforts at a consistent work volume while the land development business grew significantly and contracted with the economy.  As the economy has changed the business climate we work within, we continue to provide client oriented services on a diverse portfolio of projects.

Our team works in concert with Architects, Contractors and Owner Representatives, providing all-inclusive Planning, Engineering and Landscape Architecture Services.
